No Longer Impossible

(2014 - 2018/ongoing)

In the spring of 2014 we were contracted by the City of Calgary Public Art Program to create temporary public art around a number of new skateboard parks. The multi-year engagement process started with us asking: what does a citizen skater look and act like in Calgary? The answers we found were anticipated and surprising, clichéd and unpredictable. Working with the theme creating capacity, creating trust, we developed three projects that set out to build relationships between the Calgary skateboard community, residents of eight neighbourhoods, and Calgary Police Service. We remain involved in the Calgary skate community as active members of 100% Skate Club and helping to program What Flamingo.

We worked with Nur Films to produce a short documentary about the projects. We also published a book.
