Gone Today, Here Tomorrow
(2017 - 2018)
A botanical intervention into the Lougheed House developed during a three-month urban ecology residency. Native prairie grasses and wildflowers were installed and then photographed on 10 fireplace mantels throughout the house in a gesture to return these plants to the site. In spring 2018 we will establish a permanent native grassland garden bed on a section of the grounds known as ‘The Pasture’. This plot of land was originally maintained as native prairie for animal grazing after the house was built in 1891. The potted plants here mark the site of the future garden.
